Background: “Bath of Roses” was a personal portrait photography project in 2020. Thank you to my sister Shauna for modelling so beautifully in this shoot!

Aim: The aim of this project was to practice bringing a vision to life from a concept, to art direction, and finally to photographing and editing.

Behind The Scenes: This milk bath shoot was a low budget project shot on the iPhone XR, created in our home bathroom! This showcases how effective art direction can produce beautiful results. By mixing milk with the water and adding potpourri and rose petals, the pink floral water was created. Basic bathroom lighting and portable lighting sources such as mobile flashlights were used to illuminate the portrait. I carefully curated and applied Shauna’s makeup look with gold and coral shimmery powders and lipstick to compliment the scene and lighting. Minor corrections were applied in Adobe Photoshop.
