Background: Medication storage, delivery, and dispensing all contribute to a world of waste. Conditions such as arthritis require excessive amounts of energy and medication for treatment, pain management and counteracting side effects. Having arthritis therefore results in an abundance of energy and packaging waste.

Aim: The aim of the project is to help arthritis patient control both their energy and medication waste to create a more efficient and ‘green’ condition that is environmentally aware.

Solution: The solution is is a brand, ‘green’ app, and packaging design system. The app is focused on; tracking patient’s energy consumption to aid avoiding flare-ups and pairing with a medication delivery and packaging scheme to make arthritis a greener condition. The packaging has multiple reusable, recyclable, and compostable solutions to help patients manage their arthritis condition’s material waste. Where disposable packaging is needed, it is colour coded to help in organising medication for arthritis, according to their use and energy consumption.
